Due Dates:

Mill Creek will have a "check in" project time on Friday, December 1, 2017, for students to share the status of their projects with Mrs. Rountree.  Projects do not need to be complete for this "check in," but there should be enough details that a project category can be determined.  Additionally, students will be given feedback/suggestions regarding their projects during this time.

The projects must be complete by Saturday, January 20, 2018, for the Regional Tech Fair.  The Regional Tech Fair will be held at Julia P. Bryant Elementary.

Guidelines

  • The MCES Technology Fair is open to MCES students in grades 3-5.
  • Students may only enter 1 project.
  • This competition is completely voluntary, as it is an opportunity for students to showcase various technology skills.
  • Projects should be designed and created by students at home.  However, Mrs. Rountree will be available in the STEM Lab for questions and guidance during the mornings (7:20 - 7:50) of November 2017.
  • Some adult guidance is allowed, but judges will expect students to demonstrate that the work is their own.
  • Projects do not have to be completed before the school check-in (December 1, 2017.) They must be mostly complete and students should be able to explain the goal and demonstrate/describe the process that will be used to complete the project.
  • Please note that with some of the projects, the laptop/computer/device that the project is/was created on, will need to be brought to school for viewing the process/project. These categories are: Audio Production, Digital Photo Production, Internet Applications, Multimedia Applications, and Video Production.

  • Divisions are:

    • Division 1: Grades 3-4
    • Division 2: Grades 5-6
    • Division 3: Grades 7-8
    • Division 4: Grades 9-10
    • Division 5: Grades 11-12
