Meet the New Mustangs


Sandra Kirby - Assistant Principal
Sandy Kirby

My name is Sandra Kirby, but my friends and family call me Sandy.   My husband’s name is Scott, and we’ve been married for 12 years.   I have a son, Michael, and a step-son, Ben.   I enjoy listening to music, walking, playing golf, reading, and drawing.   I graduated from UGA with a BSED in Middle Grades Education and from GSU with a Masters in Educational Leadership.   

I taught at Willow Hill Elementary and Portal Elementary for 13 years.   I taught 6th grade at LCMS for 6 years.   I’ve been an assistant principal for 4 years at LCMS.   I look forward to joining the Mill Creek family. 


Fran Polk - Parent Liaison

My name is Franchonda Polk. I was born and raised in Statesboro, GA. I graduated Cum Laude at Fort Valley University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at Walden University. I am very family oriented and love people and children. I enjoy interior decorating and spending time with my nieces and nephews.

I have experience working with children of all ages and maintaining professional relationships with parents. I look forward to meeting each of you and having a successful school year.



Elise DiPalma - 5th grade

Hello, all! My name is Elise DiPalma, and I am so excited to be a new Mustang! I am an 8th year teacher who graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2010. I am originally from Gwinnett County (northeast Atlanta) where I grew up with my parents and sisters.

I am passionate about inclusion because I believe we are all in this together! I enjoy football, exercising, reading, and of course, teaching! I am thrilled to begin my new journey at Mill Creek! This will be the best year yet! 


Kristina Flake - Special Education

Hi, My name is Kristina Flake, but everyone calls me Kris. I have been married for 28 years to my husband Jeffrey. Jeffrey has a daughter (33) and we have two sons (27 and 22). We also have an English Setter named Auggie. He is a very spoiled fur baby. I have been teaching special education for 15 years. All of those years have been in middle school. I worked with adults with cognitive disabilities for ten years before teaching. In my spare time (haha!) I love to read and watch movies. I also love to bake and cook.

During the summer, I enjoy canning and making jelly. I am very excited and anxious about my move to MCES. It has been awhile since I have had little people at home. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming that I know this is going to be a great year.


Jontia Grace - 5th grade

Greetings! My name is Jontia Grace.  I am a native of Screven County but I’ve resided in Bulloch County for the past thirteen years.  I am entering my eighth year in education.  Time flies when you’re having fun!  I love teaching and building relationships with my students and their families.  I can’t imagine doing anything else.  I’ve taught Pre-K, 4th, and 5th grades. 

In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, shopping, and reading.  I’m beyond excited to be a part of the Mill Creek Mustangs Family, and I can’t wait to experience the adventures of the upcoming school year! 


Kelli Mincey - Kindergarten
Kelli Mincey

My name is Kelli Mincey. I’m from Statesboro and absolutely love our community. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have a 10 month old son. I have a degree in Psychology and in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University.

This will be my first year teaching Kindergarten. I am honored to join the wonderful team of  educators at Mill Creek Elementary school this upcoming year. I am eager to begin this exciting and rewarding journey.

LaPortia Mosley - 2nd grade

My name is LaPortia Pitts Mosley and I'm so excited to be a part of the Mustang family! This will be my 10th year of teaching and my 6th year in 2nd grade. I'm a double eagle of Georgia Southern University. I have my bachelors and masters in Early Childhood Education.

I was recently married in March at GSU to Andrew Mosley. When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. Whenever I find the time, I love reading and crafting. Looking forward to a fun-filled year MCES!

Chris Pye - Special Education

My name is Chris Pye and I am thrilled to be joining the Mustang family this year.  I am engaged to marry Ms. Alexis Morris this year.  We have a beautiful little girl, Harper, who is two years old.  I graduated from Screven County High School in 2007 and Georgia Southern University in 2013.  Over the past few years, I have been a special education teacher at Screven County High/Elementary School. 

This year I am excited to be coaching Varsity Football / Track at Southeast Bulloch High School.  I love working with young children helping them to reach their full potential in and out of the classroom and helping mentor the future husbands, fathers and men of our world!  It is great to be a Mustang!



Regina Eason
Regina Eason

My name is Regina Eason and I am a paraprofessional for Bulloch Co Schools. I started out as a substitute for Bulloch County in the year of 2015 and began my first position as a special education 8th/6th grade paraprofessional at Langston Chapel Middle School in the year of 2017-2018. I love working with kids of all ages and I'm very excited about this upcoming school year.

I am a mother of three children, who are middle/elementary school age. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Looking forward to having an awesome year with the Mustangs here at Mill Creek Elementary!


Erica Pace - 1st grade paraprofessional
Erica Pace

My name is Erica Pace and I am elated to be a part of the Mustang family! I am a mother of one energetic little four year old daughter.  She and I both enjoy music, art, meeting new friends, and having new and exciting experiences.

My passion for children and their personal and academic growth extends from my mother's legacy of being an effective childcare provider, as I have been shadowing her leadership since the age of fourteen.

I have completed coursework in Early Childhood Education at Georgia Southern University and have obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Human Relations from Point University. I have served as both assistant and lead teacher in classrooms ranging from Early Childcare to fifth grade. I truly find it rewarding to work with and watch children progress in the course of one year, and I look forward to an amazing year here at Mill Creek Elementary School!


Nancy Ramirez - 2nd grade paraprofessional
Nancy Ramirez

Nancy Ramirez is one of the newest members of our paraprofessional team and is eager to start the school year. As a recent graduate from Georgia Southern University, she received Magna Cum Lade in the Bachelors of Science in Education. While enrolled, she achieved over 1,000 hours of hands on experience in the classroom.

Nancy got her certificate in teaching this year. Nancy sparked her interest in teaching in high school during her early childhood pathway courses. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys relaxing with her dog, Norman, and watching a Disney movie or two. 


Maggie Snyder - PreK Paraprofessional
Maggie Snyder

My name is Maggie Snyder. I am 28 years old and a lifelong resident of Bulloch County. I graduated from GSU in 2014 with my Bachelor's degree in Child Development. I have worked as a lead teacher at First United Methodist Church Preschool from July 2015 to May 2018.

I have a wonderful three year old daughter, Stella Grace, and fiance, Justin. I am very excited to be joining the Mustang family.
